Light to Read - Adult Literacy Program for Women

Light to Read is our adult literacy program designed to teach
illiterate women in rural Malawi how to read, write and
understand math.  Upon completion, women will have the
opportunity to participate in our entrepreneur investment program.
This program is designed to empower women in rural areas to take
charge of their lives by giving them economic opportunity.

Many women came with their children
to apply for the program.

Canterio International was founded in 2006 in memory of Moses Imasuen who passed away in 2004 after a long battle with cancer. When Moses retired he dedicated his life to education and charity work in Africa. Canterio International's aim is to carry on this tradition. In 2008 Canterio International was expanded to include a branch in the United States. Canterio's goal is to fight malnutrition and to increase the capacity for education amongst orphans of the HIV/AIDS crisis and vulnerable children in poor African countries
